WINDOW TINT SERVICES
Liability Limitations OCDetailing NC, its owners, employees, and affiliates are not responsible for:
- Citations or tickets issued for illegal window tint
- Electrical issues or damage caused by tint installation (especially windshields)
- Damage to glass or defroster lines caused by tint removal
- Performance or durability issues related to tint-over-tint installations (tint is designed to bond to glass, not existing film)

Tint Removal Services Tint removal (whether standalone service or required as prep for new installation) is billed at $100 per hour. Removal time varies based on tint age, adhesive condition, and window size. Total cost cannot be accurately estimated until removal begins. By authorizing removal, you acknowledge and accept risks of glass or defroster line damage during the removal process.
Glass Edge Dot Matrix Most vehicles have black ceramic dots along glass edges (side windows, rear windows, windshields). These dots vary by manufacturer - some have straight edges, others have graduated dot patterns. The ceramic material prevents film adhesion in the dotted areas, creating a slight white-ish appearance along the glass edge where film meets dots. This is normal and unavoidable on vehicles with dot matrix edges. It does not affect film performance or durability.
Natural Imperfections Professional tint installation in controlled environments minimizes contamination, but some degree of dust particles or minor imperfections may be present due to the nature of the product and installation process. Pre-existing glass flaws (scratches, nicks, metal deposits, imperfections) often become more visible after tinting because the dark film creates contrast against what was previously clear glass. Older vehicles typically show more imperfections due to glass age and wear.
Our certified installers work in climate-controlled facilities using air and water filtration systems to ensure the cleanest installation possible.
PAINT CORRECTION SERVICES
Service Overview Paint correction permanently removes a thin layer of clear coat to eliminate swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other paint defects. This process uses machine polishers with compounds and polishes to level the clear coat, revealing clearer, glossier paint underneath.
Risks & Limitations You Should Understand
Clear Coat Removal: Paint correction works by removing microns of clear coat. While we measure paint thickness before correction and work within safe limits, this process permanently reduces clear coat thickness. Future correction may be limited or impossible depending on remaining clear coat depth.
Burn-Through Risk: Edges, body lines, decals, and previously repaired areas have thinner clear coat and higher risk of burn-through (polishing through clear coat to base coat or primer). We inspect and measure these areas carefully, but some areas may be too thin to safely correct. We will not polish areas where burn-through risk is unacceptably high.
Deep Defect Limitations: Some scratches, rock chips, or defects penetrate too deeply into clear coat to remove safely. Removing these defects completely would compromise paint integrity. We correct defects to the extent safely possible, but perfection cannot be guaranteed on heavily damaged paint.
Pre-Existing Damage: We photograph your vehicle before work begins documenting existing condition. Thin clear coat from previous correction, improper repairs, or factory defects may be revealed during our inspection. We will notify you if correction is not advisable on specific panels or areas.
Results Variability: Paint correction results depend on paint condition, clear coat thickness, defect depth, and paint hardness. Darker colors show results more dramatically than lighter colors. Some swirls or haze may return over time depending on washing methods and maintenance.
By Signing Below, You Acknowledge:
- Paint correction removes clear coat permanently and cannot be reversed
- Some areas may be too thin to correct safely, and you accept these limitations
- Deep defects may not be completely removable without compromising paint
- Results vary based on condition, and perfection is not guaranteed
- You will inspect work thoroughly before leaving and communicate any concerns immediately
PAINT PROTECTION FILM SERVICES
Product & Warranty We install 7.5mil paint protection film designed to protect against paint chips, scratches, and swirl marks. The film includes a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering, and delamination.
Warranty excludes: Normal wear and tear, damage from pressure washers, touchless laser washes, automatic car washes, accidents, misuse, or improper care.
Vehicle Condition Requirements Paint protection film bonds to OEM factory paint. Installation on non-OEM painted surfaces, repainted panels, or surfaces with existing ceramic coatings may result in adhesion issues, lifting, or bubbling. By authorizing installation, you acknowledge these risks and waive any claims against OCDetailing NC for issues arising from non-OEM paint or prior coatings.
Paint chips: PPF protects against future damage but does not hide existing chips. Installing over chips creates visible unevenness. We do not recommend touch-up on small chips prior to installation due to aesthetic impact.
Improperly prepared paint: Paint may lift during installation if repainted panels were improperly prepped. You acknowledge this risk and agree OCDetailing NC is not liable for damage during installation on repainted surfaces.
Installation Process & Coverage We use computer-cut patterns eliminating the need to cut on your vehicle's paint. Pre-cut patterns provide optimal coverage but may stop short of certain edges, badges, sensors, or trim pieces depending on vehicle design. Coverage varies by vehicle make and model.
If you have specific coverage concerns, discuss them before leaving your vehicle. PPF is a sacrificial protective layer, not an invisible or matte finish.
Exposed edges and seams: Some edges cannot be wrapped due to vehicle design. Debris may accumulate on exposed edges over time and is more visible on light-colored vehicles and partial coverage installations. Ceramic coating helps reduce debris buildup. There is no warranty coverage or film reapplication for debris accumulation on exposed edges.
Post-Installation Care & Curing Do not wash your vehicle for 5 days after installation. Film requires 2-4 weeks to fully cure depending on weather conditions.
Schedule your inspection within 2-4 weeks of installation. Moisture pockets or small bubbles may be visible during curing - do not press or attempt to remove them. Most dissipate naturally during curing. Contact us if moisture remains after the curing period.
Normal Visual Characteristics Squeegee lines may be visible on dark vehicles but dissipate within hours.
Polarized sunglasses effect: When viewing PPF through polarized sunglasses, you may see rainbow patterns, unusual discoloration, or iridescent effects that are not visible to the naked eye. This is caused by the interaction between polarized lenses and the film's multiple layers refracting light at different angles. This is completely normal and does not indicate any defect, quality issue, or performance problem with your installation.
The film appears normal without polarized lenses. This phenomenon occurs with all multi-layer films regardless of brand or installer.
Natural Imperfections Professional installation minimizes contamination, but some degree of dust particles or minor imperfections may be present due to the nature of the product and installation environment. Pre-existing paint flaws (scratches, rock chips, swirl marks) often become more noticeable after film application due to magnification through the clear film layer. Film may display minor orange peel texture. Older or heavily used vehicles typically show more visible imperfections.
Film, Badge & Decal Removal Removal of existing film, badges, or decals may damage paint, glass, or defroster lines. By authorizing removal, you acknowledge this risk and waive claims against OCDetailing NC for damage occurring during removal.
Badge removal: Removed badges may not be reusable due to adhesive deterioration. If you want badges reinstalled, you are responsible for providing and paying for replacement badges.
PPF Removal Disclaimer
Inherent Risks PPF removal carries risk of paint damage including paint lifting, clear coat damage, scratches, or discoloration. Primary risks include:
- Aged adhesive bonding to paint beyond manufacturer specifications
- Weak or compromised paint underneath the film

CERAMIC COATING SERVICES
Service Overview Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your vehicle's paint, creating a permanent protective layer. The coating provides protection against UV damage, oxidation, bird droppings, tree sap, water spots, and light wash marring while making maintenance significantly easier.
Critical Information You Must Understand
Coating Over Existing Condition: Ceramic coating enhances and protects your CURRENT paint condition. If paint correction is NOT included in your service, existing swirl marks, scratches, water spots, or oxidation will remain visible under the coating. Ceramic coating is NOT paint correction and does not remove or hide defects. It locks in whatever condition currently exists.
Not Scratch-Proof: Ceramic coating significantly increases scratch resistance but is NOT scratch-proof or rock chip-proof. Automated car washes, improper washing technique, and road debris can still damage coated paint. The coating provides a sacrificial layer absorbing some damage before reaching paint, but it is not invincible.
Water Spots & Mineral Deposits: Ceramic coating creates a hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface that causes water to bead tightly on the paint. When water beads evaporate, especially hard water from sprinklers, well water, or unfiltered sources, they leave behind concentrated mineral deposits that are MORE visible on the high-gloss coated surface than on uncoated paint. This is the coating working as designed, not a defect. Water spots are caused by minerals in the water, not by the coating itself. Vehicles parked near sprinkler systems, washed with hard or unfiltered water, or left wet without drying are significantly more prone to water spotting. If mineral deposits are left on the coating for extended periods, they can etch through the coating and into the paint, requiring professional correction to remove. Preventing water spots is YOUR responsibility through proper drying after washing, avoiding sprinkler exposure, and promptly removing water deposits. Water spot damage resulting from neglect, environmental exposure, or failure to follow maintenance instructions is NOT a coating defect and is NOT covered under warranty.
Curing Time Requirements: Your coating requires a minimum of 24 hours curing time before exposure to water, or longer if directed by your technician. This means no rain, washing, or water contact during the specified curing period. Premature water exposure compromises coating bond and voids warranty. Plan accordingly and check weather forecast. We are not responsible if you expose the vehicle to water during the curing period.
Maintenance is Required: Proper maintenance is REQUIRED to maintain warranty coverage and coating performance. Improper washing methods, harsh chemicals, or automated car washes can damage the coating. Detailed maintenance instructions and approved product recommendations will be provided after service completion. Use of non-approved products or methods may void warranty coverage.
Annual Inspections: Your manufacturer warranty may require periodic inspections to maintain coverage. It is your responsibility to schedule and complete all required inspections within the timeframes specified by the coating manufacturer. Failure to complete required inspections may void your warranty. OCDetailing NC will make reasonable efforts to remind you of upcoming inspection windows, but ultimate responsibility for scheduling lies with you.
Coating-Specific Concerns: If you experience any issues with your coating's performance or appearance, contact us to schedule an inspection at our facility. Coating concerns will be evaluated based on manufacturer warranty terms, application standards, and maintenance compliance. Resolution of warranty claims is subject to the coating manufacturer's warranty process.
By Signing Below, You Acknowledge:
- I have been shown my vehicle's current paint condition and approve proceeding with ceramic coating over its existing state
- Coating is not scratch-proof and requires proper maintenance to perform as intended
- I understand that water spots are caused by mineral deposits in water, not by the coating, and that water spot damage from neglect or environmental exposure is not covered under warranty
- I will not expose my vehicle to water for the minimum curing period specified
- Warranty coverage requires proper maintenance with approved methods and products
- I understand that annual inspections may be required to maintain warranty coverage and that scheduling inspections is my responsibility
- I have received and understand the maintenance care instructions and approved product list for my specific coating
- I will inspect work thoroughly before leaving and communicate any concerns immediately
