JAG’s Auto Detail – Terms & Conditions of Service
Effective Date: December 17, 2025
1. Payment Terms & Deposits
Payment is due upon service completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods include exact-change cash or all major credit cards. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your appointment and applies toward the final bill.
• Exceptions may be made for documented emergencies or if a valid government-issued ID is not provided prior to service.
Late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit the deposit. A 3% surcharge applies to phone-booked appointments paid via credit card. Failed, disputed, or fraudulent payments may incur additional fees, including $35 returned check or administrative charges. Unpaid balances accrue 1.5% monthly interest (18% annually) or the maximum rate allowed by law.
JAG’s Auto Detail may place a mechanic’s lien under RCW § 60.08 after providing notice via email or certified mail to all owners within ten business days.
• Full payment is required prior to vehicle key return or release, and keys may be withheld until all balances, fees, or charges are paid in full, consistent with Washington State law.
2. Service Conditions & Vehicle Safety
Services are performed professionally but factory-new condition is not guaranteed. Work is carried out to balance quality, safety, and efficiency. Services that may damage the vehicle or compromise safety will not be performed. Clients must disclose known vehicle issues, including dead batteries, inoperable windows, or structural damage.
• Hazardous materials (needles, mold, drugs, gasoline) must be reported; service may be halted and biohazard fees assessed.
• Service may be refused at any time.
• Unauthorized observation or interference by third parties, excluding the client or authorized companions, is prohibited.
• Clients must disclose aftermarket modifications; JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for adverse reactions between such modifications and standard detailing.
• Vehicles should be reasonably free of excess belongings; alarms, cameras, or electronics left installed are at the client’s risk.
• Clients warrant all vehicle information is true; JAG’s Auto Detail is not liable for undisclosed damage or prior issues.
3. Appointments, Scheduling & Abandoned Vehicles
Each appointment covers one vehicle; multiple vehicles require separate bookings and deposits unless waived for repeat or corporate clients. Appointment times are estimates.
Vehicles must be picked up by 5:30 p.m.
• Late pick-ups incur a $250 daily storage fee.
• Vehicles not collected within 10 calendar days of written notice may be deemed abandoned, and JAG’s Auto Detail may recover costs or dispose of vehicles per Washington State law.
• Operational delays will be communicated; no liability arises for extended service times. Reschedules require 24-hour notice; late reschedules or no-shows may forfeit deposits. Vehicles arriving 30 minutes late may be considered no-shows.
• Clients authorize JAG’s Auto Detail to operate, test, and move vehicles for service, pickup, or storage, with liability limited to gross negligence or willful misconduct.
4. Property Damage & Liability
Detailing involves inherent risks; JAG’s Auto Detail and owners are not liable except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
• Gross negligence is deliberate disregard for vehicle safety beyond ordinary care.
• Aftermarket parts are not removed or reinstalled.
• Child seats may be removed but not cleaned or reinstalled; seat belts and pedals are not cleaned.
• Reimbursements require licensed vendor and written approval.
• JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for theft, vandalism, or third-party acts.
• No liability for abandoned vehicles per Section 3.
• Not liable for personal injury, illness, or allergic reactions from service chemicals or environmental conditions.
5. Follow-Up & Touch-Up Policy
Concerns must be reported within 24 hours via info@jagsautodetail.com. Touch-ups must be scheduled within five days or 25 miles, with odometer or alternative verification. Only one follow-up visit per appointment; multiple issues addressed in that visit. Follow-ups are subject to availability; same-day service not guaranteed.
6. Media, Recording & Privacy
Photos and videos may be taken for training, documentation, or marketing, including social media, and will not be sold. Cabin-facing cameras are disabled during service. By booking, clients consent.
Client information may be used for verification, follow-up, or marketing. Service records are retained for five years; marketing data retained until opt-out. Communications, work orders, and recordings may be used as evidence for dispute resolution.
7. Identification Requirement, Additional Service Fees & Personal Property
A valid government-issued ID is required before service. If none is provided, full cash payment is required; deposits refunded within seven business days.
Extra services or undisclosed hazards may incur fees; only pre-approved services performed. Clients must remove valuables; JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
JAG’s Auto Detail does not inventory or take custody of personal property. Items remain the client’s responsibility. Claims must be supported by evidence that the item was present at drop-off. Surveillance footage, intake documentation, or technician testimony may be used. Loss is only covered if caused by proven gross negligence.
8. Cancellations, Delays & Force Majeure
Cancellations require 24-hour notice; late/no-shows may forfeit deposits. JAG’s Auto Detail is not liable for delays or cancellations due to weather, natural disasters, accidents, pandemics, government actions, or other force majeure events. Clients will be offered rescheduling.
• Deposits are non-refundable but may be applied to a rescheduled appointment.
9. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution & Non-Disparagement
These terms are governed by Washington State law, King County jurisdiction. Disputes first undergo mediation, then binding arbitration under AAA rules. Arbitration decisions are final; fees shared equally unless otherwise directed. Clients waive jury trial and participation in class actions.
Clients agree not to make false or misleading statements about JAG’s Auto Detail, its owners, employees, services, or products and are encouraged to resolve disputes directly first.
Any claim of theft, damage, or misconduct determined—based on surveillance, intake documentation, or technician statements—to be false, misleading, or in bad faith constitutes a material breach. JAG’s Auto Detail may recover costs for investigating or defending against such claims, including administrative time, legal fees, and lost business.
10. Modifications, Severability & Limitation of Liability
JAG’s Auto Detail may update these terms; clients will be notified via email or website. Unenforceable parts do not affect the remainder.
Except for gross negligence or willful misconduct, total liability is limited to the amount paid for services rendered. JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, income, or personal items.
• No warranties are provided, express or implied. Results may vary depending on vehicle age, condition, and prior care.
• Certain services may be refused or modified if conflicting with safety, environmental, or OSHA regulations.
