JAG’s Auto Detail – Terms & Conditions of Service
Effective Date: September 15, 2025
1. Payment Terms & Deposits
Payment is due upon service completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods include exact-change cash or all major credit cards. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your appointment and applies toward the final bill.
• Exceptions may be made for documented emergencies or if a valid government-issued ID is not provided prior to service.
Late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit the deposit. A 3% surcharge applies to phone-booked appointments paid via credit card, while cash payments are exempt. Failed, disputed, or fraudulent payments may incur additional fees, including $35 returned check fees or administrative charges. Unpaid balances will accrue interest at 1.5% per month (18% annually), or the maximum rate permitted by law.
JAG’s Auto Detail may place a mechanic’s lien under RCW § 60.08 for unpaid services following legal notice via email or certified mail to all owners within ten business days.
2. Service Conditions & Vehicle Safety
Services are performed professionally, but factory-new condition is not guaranteed. All work is carried out to a high standard, balancing quality, safety, and efficiency. Services that could damage the vehicle or compromise safety will not be performed. Clients must disclose known vehicle issues (dead batteries, inoperable windows, structural damage).
• Hazardous materials (needles, mold, drugs, gasoline) must be reported; service may be halted and biohazard fees assessed based on risk and disposal requirements.
• JAG’s Auto Detail reserves the right to refuse service at any time.
• Unauthorized observation or interference by third parties, excluding the client or authorized companions, is prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement.
• Clients must disclose aftermarket modifications, including wraps, paint protection film, and ceramic coatings, prior to service. JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for adverse reactions between such modifications and standard detailing processes.
• Clients must ensure vehicles are reasonably free of excess belongings before service. Any alarms, cameras, or electronic devices left installed are at the client’s risk.
• Clients warrant that all information provided regarding the vehicle’s condition is true and complete. JAG’s Auto Detail is not liable for undisclosed issues, prior damage, or misrepresentation by the client.
3. Appointments, Scheduling & Abandoned Vehicles
Each appointment covers one vehicle; multiple vehicles require separate bookings and deposits unless waived for repeat or corporate clients. Appointment times are estimates, and clients will be notified of significant delays.
Vehicles must be picked up by 5:30 p.m.
• Late pick-ups incur a $250 daily storage fee.
• Vehicles not retrieved within 10 calendar days of written notice (email or certified mail) may be deemed abandoned. JAG’s Auto Detail reserves the right to recover costs or dispose of abandoned vehicles in accordance with all applicable Washington State abandoned vehicle laws.
• Operational delays beyond estimated completion will be communicated; no liability arises for extended service time.
Reschedules require at least 24 hours’ notice; late reschedules or no-shows may result in deposit forfeiture. Vehicles presented 30 minutes or more after the scheduled time may be considered a no-show.
• Clients authorize JAG’s Auto Detail to operate, test, and move vehicles as reasonably necessary for service, pickup, or storage. Liability during such operation is limited to cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
4. Property Damage & Liability
Detailing involves physical work with inherent risks. JAG’s Auto Detail and its owners are not liable for damages except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
• Gross negligence is defined as deliberate disregard for the safety or well-being of the vehicle beyond ordinary care.
• Aftermarket parts (racks, subwoofers) are not removed or reinstalled.
• Interior services may involve removing child seats, which are not reinstalled or cleaned; seat belts and pedals are not cleaned, and no liability is assumed for damage.
• Any reimbursement for damage will be handled only through a licensed, pre-approved vendor with client approval in writing.
• JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for theft, vandalism, or acts of third parties occurring while a vehicle is on the premises.
• No liability is assumed for vehicles deemed abandoned under Section 3, including any loss, damage, or disposal in accordance with Washington State law.
• JAG’s Auto Detail is not liable for personal injury, illness, or allergic reactions arising from service chemicals, fragrances, or environmental conditions.
5. Follow-Up & Touch-Up Policy
Concerns must be reported via info@jagsautodetail.com within 24 hours of the final walk-through. Touch-ups must be scheduled within five days or 25 miles of service completion, including a photo of the odometer or alternative verification if inaccessible. Only one follow-up visit per appointment is permitted, and multiple issues must be addressed during that visit. Follow-ups are subject to availability; same-day service cannot be guaranteed.
6. Media, Recording & Privacy
Photos and videos may be taken for training, documentation, or marketing purposes, including social media and website use, and will not be sold to third parties. Cabin-facing cameras must be turned off or covered, and all vehicle security or monitoring features (e.g., Tesla Sentry Mode) will be disabled during service. By booking, clients consent to these policies.
Client information (photos, odometer readings, contact info) may be used for service verification, follow-up, or marketing purposes. Service records are kept for five years; marketing data retained until opt-out. Clients may request deletion of marketing data at any time; service records are retained for legal compliance. Communications, work orders, and service-related photos or recordings may be retained as evidence for dispute resolution or defense against claims.
7. Identification Requirement & Additional Service Fees
A valid government-issued photo ID is required before service. The ID will be scanned and stored securely for verification and record-keeping, with secure storage including encrypted digital files or locked physical filing accessible only to authorized personnel. Retention period: up to 90 days unless longer retention is required by law.
• If no ID is provided, full payment in cash is required prior to service. Deposits will be refunded within seven business days via the original payment method.
Extra services, including pet hair removal, odor treatment, or biohazard cleanup, may incur mandatory fees if not included at booking. Only the selected service package will be performed unless additional services are pre-approved in writing. Previously undisclosed hazards may still incur fees.
Clients must remove all valuables, including electronics, cash, documents, or data storage devices, prior to service. JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for lost or damaged items, including items temporarily moved by staff.
8. Cancellations, Delays & Force Majeure
Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice; late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit deposits. JAG’s Auto Detail is not liable for delays or cancellations due to weather, natural disasters, accidents, pandemics, government actions, or other force majeure events. Clients will be notified promptly and offered rescheduling at the next available appointment.
• Deposits are non-refundable but may be applied toward a rescheduled appointment at JAG’s Auto Detail’s discretion.
9. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution & Non-Disparagement
These terms are governed by Washington State law, King County jurisdiction. Disputes will first be addressed through mediation, and if unresolved, proceed to binding arbitration under AAA rules in King County. Arbitration decisions are final and enforceable, and fees are shared equally unless otherwise decided by the arbitrator. Clients must initiate arbitration within 180 days of the disputed service.
• In any legal or arbitration proceeding, the prevailing party is entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs, unless otherwise directed by the arbitrator or court.
• By booking services, clients waive the right to trial by jury and waive participation in any class action or collective proceeding.
Clients agree not to make false or misleading statements about JAG’s Auto Detail, its owners, employees, services, or products in any public forum, including online reviews, social media, or other public communications. Clients are encouraged to first attempt resolution of any disputes directly with JAG’s Auto Detail. Breach of this clause may entitle JAG’s Auto Detail to pursue all available legal remedies, including injunctive relief and recovery of costs.
10. Modifications, Severability & Limitation of Liability
JAG’s Auto Detail may update these terms; clients will be notified via email or website posting of material changes. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder remains valid.
Except for gross negligence or willful misconduct, total liability is limited to the amount paid for services rendered per appointment. JAG’s Auto Detail is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, income, or personal items.
• No warranties are provided, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Results may vary depending on vehicle age, condition, and prior care.
• Certain services may be refused or modified if they conflict with applicable safety, environmental, or OSHA regulations.
