Interior detailing at EXD focuses on health, comfort and material preservation. We restore cabins using dry ice cleaning, steam sanitising and ozone treatment, with minimal chemical load. The aim is a clean, neutral interior that feels new, not masked by heavy fragrance.

Every booking at EXD includes a complimentary interior refresh. This is a vacuum and wipe down of key touch points to keep the cabin presentable. The interior detailing menu below covers work that goes beyond this basic refresh and targets deeper problems, wear and long term preservation.

Process:

Each vehicle is inspected under lighting and a plan is set for leather, fabrics, plastics and vents. Dry ice cleaning reaches into vents, seat rails and tight gaps without soaking the cabin. Steam targets high touch areas such as steering wheel, switches and handles. Leather is treated with professional systems to clean, condition and, where needed, restore colour and elasticity. Fabrics and Alcantara receive pH balanced foams that lift dirt without flattening the fibres. Ozone treatment finishes the service and neutralises odours in the air system and soft materials. The cabin is aired and finished with the EXD signature scent on request.

Interior Detailing Variations and Pricing:
All interior services follow the same careful process. The difference between levels is how deep we go into restoration and what protection is applied.

Interior Enhancement: from R4 000
Seasonal interior refresh for vehicles that are kept reasonably clean. Includes steam sanitising on touch points, focused dry ice work in vents and rails, surface cleaning on leather and plastics, light fabric treatment and ozone purification. Ideal for quarterly upkeep or before family trips.

Full Interior Restoration: from R7 000
Deep restoration for worn or neglected cabins. Includes extended dry ice cleaning on rails, vents and seat mechanisms, leather deep clean and rejuvenation, full upholstery extraction on carpets and seats where suitable, stain treatment and full ozone cycle. Best for vehicles with heavy use, food spills or strong odours.

Concours Interior: from R10 000
High level treatment for collectors and special vehicles. Includes the full restoration process plus ceramic interior coating on suitable leather, plastics and trims to resist dye transfer, light scratching and future staining. This level prepares the cabin for shows, resale photography or long term preservation.

When to book:
Interior Enhancement works well on a three to four month cycle for daily drivers. Full Interior Restoration suits vehicles that have gone through children, pets, work use or long neglect. Concours Interior is best before sale, delivery of a special vehicle, or as part of a full correction and protection package.

Engine Bay Presentation 

Engine bay presentation at EXD focuses on safe cleaning, material care and a presentable finish under the bonnet. Work happens with controlled products, measured pressure and full lighting, so labels, plastics and wiring stay protected.

Process
The bay is inspected while cool. Loose debris is removed, then degreasers and foams are applied in a controlled way. Sensitive areas are covered where needed. Rinsing is gentle and targeted. Plastics and rubber receive dressing, painted and metal areas are wiped and refined, and the bay is checked under LED lighting before handover.

Engine Bay Presentation variations and pricing

Standard Engine Bay Enhancement – from R2 500
Quick enhancement for regularly maintained vehicles. Includes degreasing, safe rinse, wipe down and dressing of plastics and visible components. Best paired with an Exterior Detailing service.

Full Engine Bay Restoration (Dry Ice and Steam) – from R4 500
Deeper clean for bays with heavier build up. Includes extended dry ice and steam work on plastics, metals and tight areas. More time is spent on brackets, rails and hidden faces for a sharper result.

Concours Engine Presentation – from R6 000
High level restoration for show cars, collections and sale preparation. Includes full restoration steps plus refined finishing on visible components and sealant protection on suitable painted and metal parts.

CERAMIC COATING
The focus is long term protection, easier washing and stable gloss, without crazy claims or rushed work.

Ceramic work at EXD happens indoors with proper lighting, controlled temperature and cure time. Every vehicle is washed, decontaminated and prepared before any coating goes on. The aim is predictable performance and repeatable results.

Process
Your vehicle receives a full wash, iron and tar removal, and clay where needed. We inspect the paint and carry out the agreed correction level first. Panels are wiped with a dedicated panel prep product to strip oils. The ceramic is applied in measured sections, levelled within the correct time window and checked under LED lighting. The vehicle cures indoors for the required time before exposure to weather.

Ceramic Coating – Paint and Body

Five year ceramic system applied to all painted body panels. Includes full wash, decontamination, panel prep and application of a single layer professional ceramic. Suits daily drivers and weekend cars where strong protection and easier maintenance are the goal.

Paint and Body 9 Year Ceramic Coating
Time: 2 Days
Higher durability multi layer system on all painted body panels. Includes full wash, decontamination, extra preparation and a more intensive refinement stage before coating. Two or more layers are applied with strict timing and extended indoor cure. Suits long term ownership and high value vehicles where maximum lifespan and stability are important.

Ceramic Coating – Full Vehicle System

Complete ceramic system on paint, wheel faces and barrels, exterior glass and suitable trims. Includes full wash, full decontamination, panel prep, coating of bodywork, wheel coating, rain repellent on glass and protection on exterior plastics. Suits collectors and clients who want a full system rather than paint only.

DEALERSHIP REFRESH

Overview
Dealership Refresh is a pre sale preparation service built for forecourt, trade and consignment vehicles. The focus is to make the car presentable on the floor and in photos, without going into full correction or coating. It uses the same safe wash and interior methods as our retail work, with a structure that suits volume and repeat business.

Process
Each vehicle goes through a controlled exterior wash with decontamination on key areas. Wheels, tyres and arches receive full cleaning and dressing. The interior gets a deeper treatment than a standard valeting pass, with vacuum, wipe down, touch point cleaning and glass. The engine bay receives a light but safe enhancement. Exterior paint receives a gloss boosting hand finish suitable for photography and showroom lighting. Final checks happen under LED before the vehicle leaves the bay.

Paint Protection Film

Paint Protection Film is a self healing, transparent thermoplastic polyurethane film designed to absorb stone chips, abrasions and stains before they reach your paint. At EXD, each installation happens in a humidity controlled bay under LED inspection, using only XPEL Ultimate Plus for gloss and XPEL Stealth for matte finishes.

Preparation
The vehicle undergoes full decontamination and paint correction to give the film a clean and stable base.

Digital precision
Each panel is pre cut using XPEL DAP software to match the car’s geometry accurately, which reduces the need for risky freehand cutting.

Surface cleansing
Panels are wiped with an IPA mix for oil free adhesion.

Film application
Slip solution allows alignment without tension. Tack solution locks edges and key areas once placement is correct.

Edge wrapping
Where panel design allows, edges are wrapped for hidden terminations and fewer dirt traps.

Curing and inspection
Panels are heat set below 90°C, inspected under multi angle LED lighting and signed off digitally.

When to book
PPF works best on new or freshly corrected paint. Ideal times are at new vehicle delivery, after a correction detail, before long distance or high mileage periods, before track seasons and whenever you plan to keep a high value vehicle for several years.

Vinyl Colour Change
Vinyl colour change at EXD is a full wrap service for clients who want a new look without repainting. The focus is clean install, safe removal in future and a finish that matches the standard of the rest of your EXD work. All wraps happen indoors under controlled lighting, with full panel prep and edge work that respects the original paint.

Process
The vehicle is washed, decontaminated and stripped of badges, plates and selected trims where needed. Panels are degreased and inspected for defects. Film is cut and laid out for each panel, then applied with controlled tension and heat. Edges are wrapped where possible for a factory style look. Seams are kept to a minimum and placed in logical, discreet areas. Once complete, the wrap is heat set, inspected under LED lighting and checked for lift points before handover.
