General Terms & Conditions
Please read this carefully!
In short, our terms and conditions will tell you what we can and can't do. It defines the line in the sand of what is possible and what is not. It also will cover some important information about your service that we want to avoid any confusion about. We can tell you verbally a lot of this information but never all of it so it’s
always best to have in writing as they say. This is prior to any work being done so please don't tell us you were not told ;). If you have any issue please refer to this document first as we may have already covered that topic. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy, please don't hesitate to ask!
Vehicle Pickup
Please plan to have ample time and inspect the vehicle personally inside and out. Any issues excluding the normal post installation drying and curing process need to be addressed at this time. Verify the work specified was done as you requested and specified on the work invoice.
Third Party
We understand what it’s like being busy, so we get having someone stand in for you at times. This though can and has caused problems for us and customers in the past. When a relative, friend, coworker, business, body shop, etc., drops off or picks up a vehicle they are effectively our customer. Just like we do for any customer we will show them the choices they have to confirm what work is to be done. This may be a different employee than you spoke to originally and they be unaware possibly of any decision you have previously made. They will sign our invoice and the work will be done as specified on the invoice. If for instance the person representing you picks the wrong film, shade, coverage area, etc., that Autoskinz will not be held responsible. If this person picks up for you, they are effectively signing and agreeing to the work being done as specified. We highly recommend you do this in person to avoid these kinds of situations.
Payment
Cash or any major credit card is accepted. No checks including insurance checks will be accepted. Payment is due upon vehicle completion. No vehicle will be released without payment in full. It’s very common with a large invoice for credit card companies to deny or lock a card based on security. You may want to call ahead for preauthorization before your pickup date to avoid any issues.
Vehicle Storage
Once vehicle is completed it will need to be picked up unless storage was arranged prior to the work being started. Payment will still be due at completion regardless of storage. A $100 a day storage fee will be applied to vehicles not picked up within 24hrs of completion. During busy times we may not have enough space to store your vehicle once completed.
Manufacture Warranty & Product Claims
Any and all product claims are of sole property of the manufacture. Autoskinz does not warranty any claims made by the manufacture.
Disable Mode (No Exceptions)
Please disable any valet mode, cameras, recorders, and remote controlling of vehicle during its stay. Please remove or unplug any of these devices or we will do so. Monitoring is fine just don’t activate or deactivate anything on the vehicle.
Vehicle Key
We must be left a physical key, remote, or key card. No Exceptions.
Video Surveillance
Our facility is under 24/7 closed circuit video surveillance and all vehicles get locked inside overnight.
Installation Warranty
Autoskinz warranties all of our installations as long as the services terms and conditions are followed. Any installation issues must be reported in the first 30 days. Any issues reported after 30 days may require replacement at the sole expense of the customer.
State & Federal Law
Customer is responsible for following all applicable State & Federal laws pertaining to any products installed by Autoskinz. Any products not in compliance with State & Federal laws are for Off Highway Use Only.
Vehicle Age (5 years or older)
Due to age, oxidation, UV damage, and wear & tear some parts may become brittle on your vehicle over time. These parts may break more easily during disassembly or reassembly. This is not a technician’s fault since the part was designed to be removed but fails due to age. Autoskinz will not be held liable for replacement due to aging of parts.
Service Delays
While we do everything in our power to meet deadlines that were given, we want to ensure that every vehicle gets the attention it requires. This may require us to redo or replace products that do not meet our quality standards.
Child Seats
Autoskinz may remove your child’s safety seat to perform the work as requested. Since these seats vary between manufactures, we will not reinstall them. Please check and reinstall any child seat after our service has been completed before using. We always recommend removing them from the vehicle prior to service.

Any additional rescheduling or late requests shall require payment of a new booking fee.
Changes to Scope of Services
The booking fee reserves a specific time block based on the services scheduled. Any request to reduce, modify, or partially cancel the services in a manner that shortens or alters the reserved time shall be treated as a cancellation or rescheduling request and subject to these booking fee terms.
Non-Refundability

Vehicle Inspections
While we do perform a compressive vehicle inspection during check in not all damage may be documented or seen at that time. We may not be able to identify these areas until we are able to properly clean and prep the work areas. We do capture items as we are performing the work, such as dents, chips, and scratches. These items will be captured in our work log and can be provided upon requested during pick up. If you want to be notified as these are found, please speak with the front desk for further information.

Customer Provided Materials
Excluding OEM graphics, Autoskinz will provide installation services only at our discretion. Autoskinz is not responsible for replacement of any customer provided materials due to installer error or product issues. Customer assumes all risk when providing these materials knowing we have no way to make or replace them. We highly recommend using our services and materials if all possible.
Repair & Notice Policy
Autoskinz performs customization services and installs aftermarket products, which may require disassembly, modification, or alteration of original vehicle components. The Client acknowledges that, due to the nature of aftermarket customization, restoration to original factory (OEM) condition is not guaranteed, and variations in appearance, fitment, or function may occur.
While Autoskinz takes reasonable care in performing all services, the Client understands that components may break, fail, or be damaged during disassembly or reassembly due to age, prior condition, manufacturing tolerances, or the inherent risks associated with customization and aftermarket installations.
In the event of any alleged damage or issue related to the Services, the Client must notify Autoskinz promptly and provide Autoskinz a reasonable opportunity to inspect, repair, or replace the affected component before any third-party repair, replacement, or modification is performed. The Client agrees that Autoskinz shall be afforded the first opportunity to cure, repair, or replace any alleged issue.
The Client acknowledges that once the vehicle leaves Autoskinz’s possession, Autoskinz has no control over the vehicle’s handling, use, storage, or access by third parties. The Client agrees to inspect the vehicle upon completion of the Services and report any concerns, alleged damage, or defects within forty-eight (48) hours of vehicle pickup and before any additional driving, repair, modification, or third-party access.
Any claim not reported within this forty-eight (48) hour period, or after the vehicle has been used, modified, repaired, or accessed by a third party, shall be deemed waived, and Autoskinz shall have no further responsibility with respect to such claim.

In the event of an improper chargeback or payment reversal, the Service Provider reserves the right to recover the full outstanding balance, together with all associated chargeback fees, administrative expenses, collection costs, court costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred in enforcing these Terms, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
The Client expressly agrees that the Service Provider’s records, service authorizations, invoices, scheduling confirmations, and acceptance of these Terms shall constitute sufficient evidence to contest and rebut any chargeback or payment dispute.
Mechanics Lien
Customer hereby acknowledges a mechanics lien may be placed upon your vehicle for services rendered that remain unpaid, including but not inclusive to insufficient funds, declined credit cards, or chargebacks.
Automotive Window Film Terms & Conditions
Drying Time & Window Operation
Your new window film will take 2-3 days before you can roll down or clean your windows. It may take 3-4 weeks to fully cure depending on weather conditions. While the film is curing you could see water bubble/blisters, and the windows may appear streaky, milky, or hazy. These are all normal conditions and will go away once the film has fully cured.
Black Dotted Edges (Frit) (Dot Matrix)
Most vehicles have a black ceramic edges or dots (dot matrix) on the side and rear windows. Sometimes these ceramic edges are straight and flat or will have dotted edges. These black ceramic dots are quite thick on most vehicles and prevent the window film from sticking to the area between the dots. This results in whitish appearance and we cannot guarantee uniformity. Unfortunately, the effect is unavoidable.
Sticker & Decals
By authorizing Autoskinz to proceed with removal of any stickers or decals, the customer herby acknowledges the risk, waives any claim against Autoskinz and agrees that we will not be liable in the event that damage occurs during the removal process.
Imperfections
All vehicles are inherently dirty, even new ones, and we don’t work in a vacuum. In short, we are human therefore not perfect, and neither is your vehicle. Though we strive for perfection in every installation, due to the nature of the product, some degree of contamination and/or minor imperfections are present in every window film installation. Manufactures will have variances and defects in the film itself. Glass may have small defects. Add in a human installation and we have a 95% perfection rate that we always target for in every installation. On large and complex windows or older vehicles even more margin of error is to be expected. We do not replace film for a single random contaminate or two. Expecting more will be considered to be unreasonable. Autoskinz will not refund or replace anything considered unreasonable or beyond industry standards.
Installation
While industry standard is to cut directly on the glass, we do not do that at Autoskinz!
Window film is installed using a few drops of baby shampoo in some filtered water. No harsh chemicals are ever used. Interior is wrapped and protected during installation.
Window Film Removal
Autoskinz will not be held responsible for any damage to antenna or defroster lines when removing window film. Some films remove the metal on these lines making them inoperable. The film is generally, but not always an older film and from a hotter climate. In home repair kits or glass replacement will be your only options if you wish for them to remain working. Some films may have etched into the glass and become almost concrete. Glass replacement is the only option in this case. Some odor from the old film’s adhesive may remain upon removal for a period of time.
Warranty
Manufacture offers a limited lifetime warranty on all our automotive window films. It covers material and labor and is good nationwide. We guarantee our installations to be within the terms and conditions of this policy.
Maintenance & Cleaning
Do not clean your newly tinted windows for at least 3 days. Do not use glass cleaners that contain ammonia or harsh chemicals. We recommend a clean microfiber towel and an ammonia free glass cleaner for best results. We do offer these cleaning products for purchase in our showroom if you are interested.
Film & Shade Choice
Choosing a film series and shade is at the sole discretion of the customer. Autoskinz can only make recommendations on the films we carry. Any changes after the installation has begun or completed will be at the sole expense of the customer. An incorrect film or shade choice is not a valid warranty claim. This is a non-reclaimable product so choose wisely.
Factory Tint (AKA Privacy Glass) or Pre-Existing Window Film
Visual light transmission and color of factory glass varies between auto manufacturers. Most measure at or around 18-22% VLT.
While we do offer a 20% VLT film we do not guarantee an exact match in VLT or color on the inside or outside.
If your vehicle already has pre-existing window film, we will not guarantee a match in color or shade. We carry only 3M films and will only guarantee our products. It is recommended to remove your existing film and apply new film if you have to have an exact match around your vehicle. If you are only adding the front doors as the rest of the vehicle is tinted already do know it will not match perfectly. This is a non-reclaimable product, so we do not offer refunds or exchanges for color or shade mismatch.
Windshields
We only offer film in 90 or 70% VLT on windshields. Windshields are large and complex and require heat forming of the film prior to installation. They have poor access, rear view mirrors, steering wheels, and expensive electronics that require protecting. The risk and difficulty are much higher on these windows and therefore our margin of error will also increase. Expect a few more defects due to the nature of tinting these large and complex windows. Any replacement will take into consideration the size and complexity of the window and the main field of view.

Paint Protection Film Terms and Conditions
Kit Installations
All our PPF kits are cut using XPEL DAP cutting software. Pre-cut kits involve stopping short of edges, corners, edges around badges, washers, and other parts. They also may contain seams and relief cuts for more complex areas. Customer is aware this is a sacrificial layer for your paint and will not be completely invisible. On light colored vehicles dust and dirt will accumulate around edges and it may be more noticeable. If this is of concern for you then we recommend you go with our custom installation for an additional fee.
Custom Installations
Our custom installations involve stretching and extending the film to wrap edges and corners, reducing or eliminating seams, and extending into recessed areas not commonly covered by a kit. These installations provide more coverage and overall look less visible than a kit installation. Unlike a kit installation where all the edges are visible and can be dried, a custom installation wraps into areas we can’t always easily access. Some of these areas have unfinished or uneven paint, panel seams may have paint defects or have manufacturing seams, and wear and tear may be present. These areas due to sharp angles will be more prone to the film lifting during the drying process. Mirrors, edges, corners, deep recessed areas are all more prone to lift or crawl back during the drying process due to their shape and complexity. Since we are stretching the film sometimes to its limits more water also remains post installation and small blemishes may still be apparent. Bubbles and pockets may form during this time. This is all quite normal during its drying time so please do not panic. We will address any and all remaining areas during your follow up appointment.
Stealth or Colored PPF
To ensure proper coverage with this product it requires a custom installation. Please see Custom Installation above for more information. With dark color vehicles some areas of imperfections might be more apparent or magnified. Edges and seams may be more visible. Some items such as mirrors, door handles, and antennas etc. may not be able to be wrapped or may require a seam. Alternatives such as vinyl wrap may be an option.
Drying time
Paint protection film can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to fully dry and cure. Do not wash your vehicle for at least 7 days following installation. Some water will always remain after our installation and will need this additional time to dry. Custom installs due to the stretching and pressure when installing them will inherently require more time than a kit to dry. Any water bubbles or pockets will shrink over time. Some areas may lift or pull back as the film dries. It’s important to never touch, rub, or push on these as it will leave a permanent mark. These areas if existing will be addressed during your follow up appointment. Its best to keep the vehicle out of direct sunlight until your follow up appointment if all possible. Avoid long trips or vehicle use in poor weather conditions like high winds or rain. We do not warranty damage due to weather.
Follow-up appointment (10-14 days)
While a follow up is optional we highly recommend it and can’t guarantee our installs without it. Not all shops offer a follow up, but we do because this allows us to check the install after some drying time. This short window allows us the opportunity to address any installation issues before they warrant a replacement. On custom installations We can check all the edges, corners, and areas we stretched the film into. These areas can be pushed back down and trimmed if required.
Badges and Emblems
For best results all emblems and badging should be removed prior to installation of the film. Replacing some badging with new OEM ones is recommended post installation since the adhesive is new on them and they are aligned correctly. Ceramic Coated vehicles are more difficult to get badges to stick to so new ones are recommended. While we make every attempt to salvage existing badges not all can be reused. While we can re-adhesive most emblems, we can’t guarantee they will be as good as a new ones. If the badging is lettering like “Model S” for example, we can’t guarantee they will adhere or to be as straight as a new set. Some badging may be too small to re-apply adhesive in this case new badges must be purchased. Autoskinz can purchase new badging on your behalf using our wholesale accounts with dealers for an additional fee. Please let us know which route you would like to take prior to installation. Some manufactures require more lead time than others. Autoskinz is not to be held liable for purchase or replacement of any emblems or badges if you so choose to have them removed. The alternative is to computer cut around the badging which we can't guarantee to be consistent in location.
Imperfections & Limitations
Remember it’s called paint protection not perfect protection, vehicles inherently are dirty, and we don’t work in a vacuum. In short, we are human therefore not perfect, and neither is your vehicle. Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of the product, some degree of contamination and/or minor imperfections are present in every PPF installation. Manufactures typically have a 1-2% defect rate in the film itself. Add in a human installation at 2-3% error rate and we have a 95% perfection rate that we always target for. This is the same standard the manufactures like XPEL use. Expecting more will be considered to be unreasonable. Autoskinz will not refund or replace anything considered unreasonable.
Black or Dark painted vehicles
Dark colored paint will show flaws more than any other vehicle. If the paint has anything more than light swirl marks, you may choose to have paint correction preformed prior to film installation. Even single contaminates, or dust particle will be more noticeable on a dark or black painted vehicle. Please see our “Imperfections” policy above. Paint correction can be performed for an additional fee.
Mirrors
Mirrors are notorious for being the most difficult thing to wrap on a vehicle. Due to the compound curves of most modern mirrors, they require the film to be stretched during install. Lifting, crawl back, peeling, and blemishes will be more common. This is not an installer error, but due to the complexity of the surface. Coverage also may be limited so most kits only cover a portion on the face of the mirror. We can custom stretch and fully cover some mirrors for an additional fee. Please discuss this with us if this is of interest to you and if this is an option for your vehicle prior to installation.
Parking Sensors
On some vehicles due to the significant stretching of the film the parking sensors will need to be cut during the vehicles follow-up appointment or they may split or separate. Do not rely on your sensors during this time. Avoid using any auto pilot features. Autoskinz will not be held liable for any damage due to sensor failure.
License Plates
If license plate is attached to any surface, we are wrapping we will remove it prior to installation. It will be reinstalled at the request of the customer during the follow up appointment.
Vents
Some vents can be removed during installation and reinstalled post installation for that seamless look. On some vehicle’s vents may vibrate and rub causing the film to lift or bunch. The film can be trimmed short if this occurs, but replacement will be at the sole expense of the customer. If you would like these areas trimmed short during installation, please inform us prior to installation.
Non-OEM Paint
We always recommend waiting 30 days before installing PPF to any freshly painted surface so any and all outgassing has occurred. Repaints also are never as good as OEM paint and can cause issues for us during installation. If the surface was not prepped correctly even a simple reposition can pull paint from the vehicle. Over spray may cause adhesion issues. Dirt nibs and particles can break free and get under the film during installation. You agree to us using our experience on best how to deal with any installation issues. Autoskinz will not be held responsible for any damage due to the installation of paint protection on non-OEM paint and this includes outgassing.
PPF Removal
Paint protection film was designed to be removed without issue on OEM painted surfaces. Autoskinz does not have a way to determine a vehicles prior history in regard to its paint and/or paint protection film. The customer waves and releases Autoskinz of any and all liability if damage occurs during removal of any paint protection film.
Headlights, Plastic Trim, Pillars
These surfaces can be wrapped but note on some vehicles they risk of delaminating during installation. Autoskinz will not be held responsible for any damage due to the installation of PPF or removal on these surfaces. We use computer cut kits for side pillars so the edges will be visible and be more noticeable as wear and tear takes place. Any imperfections on these surfaces may be amplified by film installation.
Poor Surface Conditions
Surfaces with a lot of chips, scratches, or rash can be very difficult to wrap. The adhesion to the vehicle will be lower so areas that are routine normally may become more difficult. The film may enhance the defects due to raised areas around chips or from all the micro pitting. Coverage may also be limited due to paint conditions and adhesion issues.
Chip & Scratch Repair
Autoskinz does offer chip and scratch repair services for an additional fee. This may require a special order for your paint code so please check with us prior to your installation appointment (There is about a week lead time to receive). Autoskinz will not use any customer provided paint or OEM paint pens. Note, that a repair is not a replacement for a trip to the body shop. All chips, scratches, rash, and defects vary in nature and they may not all fill equally. Some may be fully repaired while others may see a marginal improvement if any or none at all. Installation of PPF may or may not enhance or hide these imperfections. Not recommended for ceramic coated vehicles.
Sharp Panel Edges
Some panels end with an unfinished back side or bends sharply. These panels will be trimmed right up to the edge and not over since it will not have enough adhesion on the back side or may lift film due to the sharp angle.
Seams
Some vehicles have complex panels or oversized panels. These may require seams. On light color vehicles they may be more noticeable over time due to dirt accumulation. Our custom installs can sometimes reduce or eliminate these. Please check with us prior to installation of this is of interest to you.
Wear and Tear
As soon as your vehicle leaves our shop, wear and tear kicks in. This sacrificial layer of film is basically a giant sticker and shield. It’s exposed to the elements like water, wind, debris, rocks, etc. These will impact its surface degrading it over time. It may develop pits, chips, scratches, tears, and edges lifting. These are not an installation or warranty issue as they developed over time. We do offer a once-a-year free maintenace where we go over and trim or clean areas that may have more wear on them.
Maintenance, Washing, Pressure Washer, Chemicals, Automated Washes
It’s recommended to avoid automated washes, brushes, and any harsh chemicals. Pressure washers and blowers can be used safely as long as you keep a 36” or more distance, avoid edges and corners, and use the appropriate nozzle (if your hand can't take it either can the PPF), but there is always a risk using these types of devices. Autoskinz does not warranty any damages caused by pressure washers, blowers or improper washing.
Ceramic Coating
PPF requires a non-petroleum wax, sealant, or a ceramic coating to keep it looking great for years. We recommend a ceramic coating as it only needs to be applied once. It’s very important this is not applied to the painted surface prior to PPF installation. Please inform us of any existing coating prior to installation. Autoskinz will not warranty any installation over an existing coating.
Ceramic Coatings Terms and Conditions
Ceramic Coatings
Customer understands a ceramic coating is a sacrificial layer. Its main purpose is chemical protection. It’s benefits may include more gloss, hydrophobics, self-healing, UV protection, scratch resistance, self-cleaning, and slickness. Autoskinz does not guarantee and will not be held responsible at any level for the performance, durability, or claims made by the manufacture.
Curing Time
Your new ceramic coating may take up to 30 days to fully cure. Do not wash your vehicle until your follow up appointment. Avoid touching and wiping if all possible. Do not let bird droppings, bug guts, or water to dwell on the surface.
Drying Time
Ceramic coatings require 3 days to dry before they can get wet. If the weather is an issue, we may apply a topcoat allowing it to get wet sooner or recommend a later pickup date. Autoskinz will not be held responsible for water damage to the coating during drying time. Avoid long trips or vehicle use in poor weather conditions like high winds or rain. We do not warranty damage due to weather.
Vehicle Condition
Customer agrees and understands that while Autoskinz is very good at what we do we can’t correct all damage and defects. Even new cars may have these defects.
Film, Badge, Decal Removal
For best results many emblems and badges can be removed prior to paint correction. While removed areas between lettering and around can be better cleaned and corrected. If you choose not remove badges the areas between and around will not be corrected. Replacing some badging with new OEM ones is recommended since the adhesive is new on them. While we can re-adhesive most emblems, we can’t guarantee they will be as good as a new set. If the badge lettering like “Model S” for example, we can’t guarantee they will adhere or to be as straight as a new set. Some badging may be too small to re-apply adhesive in this case new badges must be purchased. Autoskinz can purchase new badging on your behalf using our wholesale accounts with dealers for an additional fee. Please let us know which route you would like to take prior to using our service. Some manufactures require more lead time than others.
Taping
As part of the paint correction process we will tape areas such as edges, trim, lighting, seals, soft tops, etc. to protect them. Any of these surfaces in reasonable condition this will not be an issue. Repaints, UV damage, aging, and delamination increase the risk of damage when using any adhesive on these surfaces. Autoskinz is not responsible for any damage due to taping due to a degraded surface.
Paint Correction
Paint correction is the process of leveling the existing paint or clear coat to remove defects such as scratches and swirls. It’s a laborintensive process and requires a lot of skill to be done correctly. Some defects may be too deep to chase and in doing so would weaken the integrity of the paint causing premature failure. Custom understands our detailers will make that call based off paint meter readings and our experience. Customer understands they only have a certain amount of paint to work with so removing the least amount possible to achieve the desired result is what we aim for. Customer understands our coating packages will vary in the amount of time allotted for paint correction and that lower end packages will include less paint correction time then our higher end packages.
Paint Defects
Uncorrectable defects such as fisheyes, solvent pop, chips, and deep scratches may be more visible after paint correction. These areas once camouflaged by other scratches and swirls will now have been corrected so these remaining defects will stand out more.
Annual Inspections
We recommend an annual inspection to ensure the coating is still performing optimally. This is a paid service and required for some warranties. We perform a hand wash, decontamination, and apply a topcoat to the vehicle’s exterior.
Wet Sanding
Wet sanding is a technique used to remove or level the surface of your clear coat. This technique can be used to remove scratches, orange peel, dirt nibs, and other paint defects. Sometimes it’s the last resort before a trip to the body shop. Autoskinz will not be held responsible for any damage or matching of the areas where wet sanding is performed.
Non-OEM Paint
Most repaints are never at the same quality as OEM paint. The thickness of clear coat may vary, paint defects such as fisheyes, dirt nibs, sanding marks, buffer trails, solvent pop, orange peel, burn marks, over spray, blotchy, paint drips, etc. may be more common. Not all of these are correctable, and some repaints react poorly to certain coatings due to their solvents. If you have any repainted panels on your vehicle, please inform us prior to using our services.
Chip & Scratch Repair
Customer agrees that not all chips and scratches are repairable. That Autoskinz does not guarantee any level of repair due to the nature of every vehicle and its defects are unique. Chip and Scratch repair is not a replacement for a trip to the body shop.
Imperfections & Defects
Once paint correction has completed certain defects may be more visible. The corrected areas once camouflaged by swirls and scratches now reveal isolated defects. Known as RID (Random Isolated Defect) these defects may stand out more. Damage too deep or from the painting process may not be correctable.
Maintenance & Washing
We win if you win. Follow our maintenance and washing procedures for optimal results. Improper washing and maintenance will void your warranty.
Vehicle Wrap Terms and Conditions
Parts Removal
For the best possible installation, removing some items like the bumper covers, lights, door handles, trim, etc. can give us more access to wrap panels deeper or wrap parts off the vehicle. Many man hours go into removal, parts management, and reinstallation so this does come at an additional fee. Please check with us prior to installation if this is of interest to you.
Follow-up appointment (10-14 days)
While a follow up is optional we highly recommend it and can’t guarantee our installs without it. Not all shops offer a follow up, but we do because this allows us to check the install after some curing time. This short window allows us the opportunity to address any installation issues before they warrant a replacement. We can check all the edges, corners, and areas we stretched the film into. These areas can be pushed back down and trimmed if required.
Badges and Emblems
For best results all emblems and badging should be removed prior to installation of the film. Replacing some badging with new OEM ones is recommended post installation since the adhesive is new on them. Ceramic Coated vehicles are more difficult to get badges to stick to so new ones are needed. While we can re-adhesive most emblems, we can’t guarantee they will be as good as a new one.
Imperfections & Limitations
Remember this film is human installed, vehicles inherently are dirty, and we don’t work in a vacuum. Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of the product, some degree of contamination and/or minor imperfections are present in every wrap installation. Manufactures typically have a 1-2% defect rate in the film itself. Add in a human installation at 2-3% error rate and we have a 95% perfection rate that we always target for. Expecting more will be considered to be unreasonable. Autoskinz will not refund or replace anything considered unreasonable.
Mirrors & Door Handles
Mirrors and Door Handles are notorious for being the most difficult thing to wrap on a vehicle. Due to the compound curves of most modern mirrors and handles they require the film to be heavily stretched during install. Lifting, crawl back, peeling, and blemishes will be more common. This is not an installer error, but due to the complexity of the surface. Coverage also may require seams for long term durability. We can custom stretch and fully cover some mirrors for an additional fee. Please discuss this with us if this is of interest to you and if this is an option for your vehicle prior to installation.
Parking sensors
On some vehicle’s sensors can just be wrapped over and never get trimmed out, while on others they need to be trimmed. Customer agrees that Autoskinz will not be held liable for any damage due to sensor failure, malfunctioning sensors, summons capability, or Auto Pilot issues.
We always recommend waiting 30 days before installing wrap to any freshly painted surface so any and all outgassing has occurred. Repaints also are never as good as OEM paint and can cause issues for us during installation. If the surface was not prepped correctly even a simple reposition can pull paint from the vehicle. Over spray may cause adhesion issues. Dirt nibs and particles can break free and get under the film during installation. You agree to us using our experience on best how to deal with any installation.
Directional Film
Some films require installation to occur with the film in the same direction. Autoskinz does not guarantee the adjoining surfaces will match perfectly due to direction changes of the panel.
Ceramic Coating
We highly recommend ceramic coating your new wrap. This will reduce the chances of staining and will make overall maintenance easier. If vehicle has an existing coating Autoskinz will not warranty any wrap over those surfaces.
Vinyl Removal
Vinyl Wrap was designed to be removed without issue on OEM painted surfaces. Autoskinz does not have a way to determine a vehicles prior history in regard to its paint and/or existing Vinyl Wrap. The customer waves and releases Autoskinz of any and all liability if damage occurs during removal of any vinyl wrap.
Headlights, Plastic Trim, pillars
These surfaces can be wrapped but note on some vehicles they risk of delaminating during installation. Autoskinz will not be held responsible for any damage due to the installation of film or removal on these surfaces.
Poor Surface Conditions
Surfaces with a lot of chips, scratches, or rash can be very difficult to wrap. The adhesion to the vehicle will be lower so areas that are routine normally may become more difficult. The film may enhance the defects due to raised areas around chips and the recesses inside of them or from all the micro pitting. Coverage may also be limited due to paint conditions and adhesion issues.
These may require a seam to be done properly and to maintain an acceptable durability level.
Wear and Tear
As soon as your vehicle leaves our shop, wear and tear kicks in. The film is exposed to the elements like water, wind, debris, rocks, etc. These will impact its surface degrading it over time. It may develop pits, chips, scratches, tears, and edges lifting. These are not an installation or warranty issue as they developed over time. We do offer a once-a-year free maintenance where we go over and trim or clean areas that may have more wear on them.
Maintenance, Washing, Pressure Washer, Chemicals, Automated Washes
It’s recommended to avoid automated washes, brushes, and any harsh chemicals. Pressure washers and blowers should be avoided. Autoskinz does not warranty any damages caused by pressure washers, blowers or improper washing.
