Terms and Conditions for VIN Verification Service
I. Service Authorization and Scope
1. Licensing and Authority: We are a private entity licensed and bonded by the California DMV to provide vehicle registration services and VIN verification. We are not a branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
2. Service Provided: Our core service is the physical inspection of a vehicle, known as a VIN verification. We are authorized to verify a car, truck, trailer, or motorcycle.
3. Form Completion: Upon successful verification, we are licensed to complete the most current REG 31 form.
4. Purpose of Verification: The verification process is a vital process in registering vehicles in California and is performed to document the vehicle's unique number to prevent fraud and theft.
5. Additional Services: We may also assist with related DMV services, including vehicle registration, transfers, title replacement, and lien sale services.
II. Customer Obligations and Vehicle Requirements
1. Required Accessibility: For the physical inspection to occur, the vehicle must be made accessible to the verifier at a specified location, such as Your Home, Work, or Storage Facility.
2. Necessary Documentation: The vehicle must allow the verifier to physically document the following items during the inspection:
◦ VIN number
◦ Odometer reading
◦ Body type model (BTM)
◦ Year, make, and model
◦ Emissions label
3. Appointment Adherence: We commit to keeping scheduled appointments or providing advance notification of any changes, as we recognize the customer's time has value.
III. Fees and Payment
1. Service Fees: Unlike verifications performed by the DMV or CHP, Private VIN verifiers do charge a fee for the inspection.
2. Travel Fees: For our Mobile Service (where We come to your location), we will charge you a fee for traveling in addition to the inspection fee.
3. Variable Travel Costs: The travel fee is variable and will depend on factors such as distance, time, location, or the personal preferences of the individual company.
4. DMV Alternative: We acknowledge that Registration services may be provided at the DMV without additional fees.
IV. Service Limitations and Exclusions
The following vehicle types are outside the scope of services we are licensed to perform. If your vehicle falls into one of these categories, you must seek verification through the CHP or the DMV:

2. Specific Vehicle Configurations: We cannot verify:
◦ Motorcycles without the Original Engine
